2010 {it's just around the corner}

It is snowing-and I'm am drinking my favorite drink, a hazenult latte from starbucks, could it get any better? {actually it could, if I was typing this on my laptop in front of the fire upstairs instead of our cold basement, but I don't have a laptop so, oh well}

I know it's not even Christmas but I am thinking ahead to 2010. Thinking about the New Year and what it will bring.

I am hoping to make some changes {for the better} in my business and blog and etsy shop. You might find that my etsy shop is a tad scarce these days. I know. I am working it. I will probably be taking a little break and not working so hard {ha!} these last few weeks of Decemeber. I am working how to make my little business run a bit smoother. I am not what you would call business saavy, so I am trying to learn the ins and outs of running a business while focusing on my first priorities. {those would be my Dave, Preston, my house etc.} I really want to learn how to be a better blogger-is that funny/cheesy/dorky? Did you know there are books galore about blogging?!? I didn't but was pleasantly surprised! Then of course I have some personal goals, spirital goals, and financial goals that I want to focus one...I just need to spend some quiet time thinking, contemplate, and work through all these ideas that are running through my head!

What about you, have you been thinking about the New Year yet?

Friday already? What happened to the rest of the week-seriously?
This week past me by without me even realizing it. I guess that happens the closer it gets to Christmas!
Time just goes by faster and faster. I'm not sure I like it going by so fast.
So what have I been doing with myself this week? Lets see.
Fighting a bug, mailing out journals, surfing the web a little, running some errands around town, picking up Christmas cards.  Not a whole lot.

The highlight of my week was getting these.

They are called squeaky shoes, have you heard of them? I guess they are really big in China.
The name might give it away-but they squeak when your child walks. Some might find it annoying. I think it is absolutely adorable-and so does Preston:)
I bought them from a really cool lady who is having a Craigslist sale and it turns out she has an online boutique where she sells adorable handmade hats and headbands and squeaky shoes:)
Tots in Dots Boutique is the name of her business if you want to check it out.

Sunday.

Lord let your light shine one me.
Pslam 4:6

:::So, I was going to post a picture of a beautiful sunshiney summer day, but thought that would be cruel-to those of us here in the freezing cold northwest. I thought I would stay true to the season:::

Word Collage

Here is a do-it-yourself project. It is really simple. Simple is good right? Thought so!

What you need: a printer, a favorite font, and your favorite bible verses.
I downloaded this font a while ago, it is called pupcat and it is free to download. Just google it.

{Don't mind the smudgy finger prints on the glass or the banged up frame-you get the idea right?}

You can do these for any occassion. This word collage just happens to have some of my favorite Christmas bible verses.

Make your own wreath

I have been wanting a wreath.

It's just one of those things that isn't a necessity-so it always gets put on the back burner.

But wait!

Check this out:

A wreath made out of paper-I can do this!

This is a perfect project for all my scraps of paper, and I have lots of scraps.

Click here for the instructions if you want to make your own.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We come to this table today, O Lord, humble and thankful and glad. We thank thee first for the great miracle of life, for the exaltation of being human, for the capacity to love. We thank Thee for joys both great and simple-For wonder, dreams and hope; For the newness of each day; For laughter and song and a merry heart; For compassion waiting within to be kindled; For the forbearance of friends and the smiles of a stranger; For the arching of the earth and trees and heavens and the fruit of all three; For the wisdom of the old; For the courage of the young; For the promise of the child; For the strength that comes when needed; For this family united here today. Of those to whom much is given, much is required. May we and our children remember this.
Amen.

{I found this prayer in the Today section of the Spokesman Review last year, Nov 2008  and I wanted to share it with everyone. Happy Thanksgiving!}
